OUR SERVICES

YOUR FLOWERS.
YOUR WAY.

Rooted in sustainable wedding practices,  florals that reflect your values, your style, and your story.

From full-scale weddings to city hall elopements and once-in-a-lifetime celebrations like mitzvahs, we create florals that honor the moment and feel wholly yours. Every design begins with the season and the person, not a Pinterest board.

We offer custom full-service wedding flowers, The Burb Edit: à la carte, and lush DIY botanical buckets, whether you’re dreaming big or keeping it simple, hands-off or all-in, we’ve got you covered.

Hi, I’m Anna

FARMER. FLORIST.
Big believer in seasonal beauty.

I started The Fertile Burb to grow flowers with purpose and to bring sustainable wedding floral design to Northern Virginia couples seeking something different, an alternative to the imported, overly sterile norm. I’m both your boots-in-the-field grower and your hands-in-the-bucket designer, blending the practical with the poetic at every step.

Our small team handles everything from seed sowing to bouquet tying. Most of what we use is grown right here on our farm, but we also source from a trusted circle of local flower farmers, a community rooted in shared values and mutual care. We plan months ahead and think deeply about movement, texture, and the emotional tone of each design.

This work is deeply personal, but it’s not just about me. It’s about creating florals that feel like you. Ones that speak to your vision, your values, and the way you want your day to feel.

PHILOSOPHY

FLORALS
WITHOUT
COMPROMISE

Our approach nods to older traditions, when florists gathered blooms from their gardens and foraged what made the story sing. It’s floristry that flows, that listens, that leaves space for movement.

Always grown, never guessed. Each stem finds its place, each bloom tells a story. It’s a practice that honors the land, the season, and the people at the heart of the celebration.  We don’t chase trends, we design wedding flowers for the time of year, the nature of the celebration, and the people at its center.

Anna Beall, farmer and florist behind The Fertile Burb in Northern Virginia.

At The Fertile Burb, we grow

and create with intention, using

flowers that reflect real life, not a

catalog. Not just for sustainability’s sake (though that matters deeply), but because it results in layered, textural, living designs, never sterile or lifeless.

Just like we tend our fields, we care for our couples , with attention, trust, and a spirit of collaboration. Relationships are a big part of our process, and we believe the best flowers start with mutual care.

"One of the biggest joys and surprises of the day was seeing everything come together. It was truly perfect! From the bouquets to the arbor and everything in between, you truly brought our vision to life.
